Another little music recommendation: A London based band I’ve recently discovered when being dragged to one of those awful hipster places in east London, [This Is Radio Silence]. Beautiful stuff! On their Facebook they say Alternative | Psychedelic | Electronic | Post-Punk | Visual. I suppose that’s what it is. Their sound is big, dark, emotional, the kind of music you listen to while dreaming away. And not only their recorded stuff is amazing, live they are even better. Not sure why they accepted to play this venue. They so deserve a proper stage!
So check out their music, like them and GO SEE THEM LIVE (no matter where)! They are on Spotify,

Took my little Holga lens for a walk through Hackney Wick and Victoria Park the other day. Very cool part of East London btw.
A bit more than a month ago I got the great opportunity to shoot some pictures for TimeOut Magazine. Therefore I met this very nice guy Anthony from event company ‘We Are Parable’, who was writing a story about sneakers, to portrait him in is favorite sneaker shop. He told me that he was just about to organize this big event about shoes which was supposed to take place in Shoreditch and invited me to come around with my camera to take some images of the launch party. So on the 10th October I found myself at Rag Factory art gallery, a very cool place just off Brick Lane, at a very special event called ‘Is It The Shoes?’ It was the opening of 4 days arts exhibition, film screenings and discussions about how sneakers influenced pop culture over the last 30 years. To be honest I have never been too much into trainers but I was deeply impressed by what these guys built up that night. Everything was very well organized, the atmosphere was great, the people were great, DJ top and I really liked how they actually managed to put sneakers from several decades and all sorts of pop cultural artwork together in one room. Thumbs up for this and a selection of pics by Torturett!
