I recently bought a HOLGA lens for my canon camera. Not sure yet if I like it. These are some samples that came out during the first try. I’m not a great fan of photoshop so this is more or less the original. I kind of like that little black frame and the sort of vintage style but on the other side I think it is quite difficult to shoot with this lens. Most of the time pictures come out either too dark, too bright or really shaky. The camera doesn’t recognize the lens, you cant focus through the view finder and there is no aperture setting. The only thing you can adjust is shutter speed and iso. So it really depends on the environment and the light. The contrast is not very strong and most of the “good” images come out really soft. I think this lens is great for vintage style stills like anything that is not moving and that is surrounded by a lot of light. At least it is a little challenge for a change but when it comes down to proper shootings i definitely prefer my expensive pro-lens.
A few images from this years x-mas Barboot in Crouch End! As usual nice vintage and hand made stuff, nice people, drinks and live music. Had a great time again!
